GUWAHATI: Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs ( CCEA) has cleared three projects for Assam with an estimated investment of Rs 2129 Crore.

CCEA has given its approval for four laning of the Demow to Bogibil section of National Highway-37 in the state of Assam under the Special Accelerated Road Development Programme in North Eastern Region (SARDP-NE) Phase 'A' on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT-Annuity) in Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) pattern.

CCEA has approved has approved for four laning of the Jorhat to Demow section of National Highway-37. The cost is estimated to be Rs.963.21 crore. Four laning of the Numaligarh to Jorhat section of National Highway-37 in the state of Assam is also cleared. The total length of the road will be approximately 51 kms.

The project will expedite improvement of infrastructure in the State of Assam and also reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Nagaon and Dibrugarh.
