Cabinet approves highway projects worth Rs 1,500 crore

The Cabinet committee on infrastructure on Thursday cleared highway projects worth Rs 1,500 crore, the government said.

NEW DELHI The Cabinet committee on infrastructure on Thursday cleared highway projects worth Rs 1,500 crore, the government said.

The projects, to be executed under phase IV of the national highway development program (NHDP), include widening of the Rajsamand–Bhilwara section of National Highway 758 in Rajasthan to four lanes.

The estimated cost of the project, to be implemented in the DBFOT (design, build, finance, operate and transfer) pattern, isRs899.24 crore, of which Rs221.45 crore will be for land acquisition, rehabilitation, resettlement and pre-construction expenses.

The panel also cleared the widening of the Salasar-Haryana border section of NH 65 in Rajasthan to two lanes. The project is expected to cost Rs601.19 crore, of which Rs71.12 crore will be towards land acquisition, rehabilitation, resettlement and preconstruction expenses.
