Brahm Dutt becomes Road Transport, Highways secy
Senior bureaucrat Brahm Dutt takes over as the new Secretary of Central Road Transport and Highways Ministry.
He took over from Vijay Singh, who has been appointed Defence Secretary, according to an official release here.
Prior to his appointment, Dutt was the Chairman of National Authority, Chemicals Weapons Convention in the Cabinet Secretariat.
"Dutt has vast experience in the Centre as he was the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Industry from 1994 to 1999 and later Special Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training from September 2005 to January," it said.
Dutt who is a 1973-batch IAS officer has also served as Commercial Controller and Financial Advisor at the Indian Embassy in the US and also as the Chairman and Managing Director of Mysore Paper Mills, the release added.
