BoA approves seven SEZ proposals

The board of approval (BoA) for special economic zones (SEZs) has given formal approvals to seven proposals and in-principle clearance to two proposals in its meeting on Thursday.

NEW DELHI: The board of approval (BoA) for special economic zones (SEZs) has given formal approvals to seven proposals and in-principle clearance to two proposals in its meeting on Thursday.

The SEZs which got formal clearance include a multi-services SEZ by Anand Jain's Navi Mumbai SEZ in Maharashtra, an aluminium SEZ by JSW Aluminium in Andhra Pradesh and an agro product SEZ by Anand Agrochem India in Uttar Pradesh.

An in-principle clearance was given to a multi-product tax free zone by Lepakshi Knowledge Hub Pvt Ltd in Andhra Pradesh.

Larsen and Tourbo's proposal for setting up an IT/ITES SEZ in Maharashtra was deferred due to lack of clarity on land possession, a commerce ministry official said.
