Badal launches 2 World Bank aided projects
Two World Bank aided projects worth Rs 2,780 crore to improve water supply in rural areas and road infrastructure were launched in Punjab today by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
While the water project entails an investment of Rs 1,280 crore to augment potable water supply to over 3,000 villages of the state, the other project involves rehabilitation and widening of 1,300 km road at a cost of Rs 1,500 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister also announced a new rehabilitation and resettlement policy for persons whose land or structures would be acquired for the project.
