Arunachal seeks sanction for infrastructure projects

Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu has sought sanction for eight major projects to address infrastructural issues in Arunachal Pradesh from the visiting Planning Commission team.

ITANAGAR: Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu has sought sanction for eight major projects to address infrastructural issues in Arunachal Pradesh from the visiting Planning Commission team.

The projects include 132 KV Trans-Arunachal grid, drinking water facility in border blocks, porter tracks and foot suspension and log bridges connecting 22 administrative centres along the international border and expediting construction of the Greenfield airport, officials informed here today.

Khandu met the team comprising Planning Commission member B K Chaturvedi and Advisor S N Brahma Chowdury last evening at a high-level meeting.

The team also reviewed the progress of various projects in the state under the Prime Minister's package and Centrally sponsored projects and called for speedy implementation of the projects, the officials said.
