All India Radio will now show you the way in highways
After the success of AIR FM's programme `Highway ki Baatein' on the Delhi-Jaipur stretch, it is being extended to some major highway corridors passing through Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nad...

All you need to do is tune into All India Radio's FM channel. This service will cover more than 2,500 km on national highway corridors.
After the success of AIR FM's programme `Highway ki Baatein' on the Delhi-Jaipur stretch, it is being extended to some major highway corridors passing through Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Sources said the World Bank, which is supporting road transport ministry to popularise this `highway adviso ry system (HAS)', has given its approval for extending this service across the identified stretches.
These stretches include Delhi-Chandigarh, BhopalIndore, Lucknow-Gorakhpur, Nagpur-Raipur, Mumbai-Pune, Ahmedabad-Vadodara, Chennai-Bengaluru, CuttackPuri and Kolkata-Asansol.
Under the `Highway ki Baatein' initiative, radio jockeys share traffic and weather con ditions every half-an-hour during peak hours.
The information collected from commuters, concessionaires, patrol vehicles, toll plazas and traffic marshals is transmitted to HAS control centre using mobile applications, telephones and sensors.
The information, after analysis, is used to generate alerts and are sent for broadcasting by AIR. Twenty-two bulletins are issued daily.
