407-km long highway sanctioned in Arunachal Pradesh

The Neichipu-Hoj road via Seppa and Sagalee, part of the TAH announced by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2006, was sanctioned six months ago.

ITANAGAR: The Union Road Transport & National Highways ministry has approved the 407 km Putin-Pangin road which passes through three districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

The road, part of the ambitious Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH), which will touch Ziro, Daporijo and Aalo was approved by Union Road Transport & National Highways Minister C P Joshi yesterday, Lok Sabha member from Arunachal Takam Sanjoy said in a statement today.

The Neichipu-Hoj road via Seppa and Sagalee, part of the TAH announced by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2006, was sanctioned six months ago.

The foundation stones of both the major roads would be laid by Joshi and Chief Minister Nabam Tuki in the first week of February next for which both have given consent, Sanjoy said, adding he would also be attending the functions.

The Hyderabad-based ECI Engineering & Constructions Pvt Ltd would execute the projects.

Meanwhile, the MP appealed to the leaders and public to co-operate in expeditious execution of the roads which would boost the economy of the state.
