40-hr load-shedding hits Marathwada industries hard

The industries in Marathwada region of Maharashtra are facing losses to the tune of Rs 1,700 crore per week due to the 40 hours load-shedding introduced by the MSEDCL.

AURANGABAD: The industries in Marathwada region of Maharashtra are facing losses to the tune of Rs 1,700 crore per week due to the 40 hours load-shedding introduced by the MSEDCL.

Production has decreased by 17 per cent which may affect the industrial growth in the region badly. Industries in the region are facing losses to the tune of Rs 1,700 crore per week, Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) officials in a press conference said here.

The CMIA office-bearers said that if the situation does not improve small industries in the region would be compelled to shut down. Several industrialists, present at the press conference, alleged step-motherly treatment by the government towards Marathawada region.
