24,340 houses to be built in East Godavari district: dy CM

RAJAHMUNDRY (ANDHRA PRADESH): Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Nimakayala Chinarajappa today said 24,340 houses will be constructed in urban areas of East Godavari district at the expense of Rs 560 crore under the `Housing For All' scheme.

Chinarajappa was speaking after attending a workshop on housing at the collector's office at Kakinada.

The scheme would be implemented with Central assistance, he said, adding that each house would cost Rs 5.50 lakh to build.
