US dollar mixed, gold up

US dollar was mixed against other major currencies while gold rose in European trading.

LONDON: The US dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday morning. Gold rose.

The euro traded at US$1.5726, down from US$1.5733 late Monday in New York.

Other dollar rates: _106.51 Japanese yen, down from 106.96 _1.0231 Swiss francs, down from 1.0259 _1.0187 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0177 The British pound was quoted at US$1.9774, down from $1.9775.

Gold traded in London at US$ 929.25 per troy ounce, up from US$916.75 late Monday.
