Wipro chairman Azim Premji said at the company's analyst meet that "we are working without a leader as a country" and that "if we do not change, we would be down for years." Analysts ET NOW spoke to said he had also stated how policy paralysis was hurting investor sentiment.
Premji's comments come months after his open letter to the Government over lack of governance and at a time when S&P has warned that India could be the first BRIC nation to lose its investment grade.
At the same time, Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy has been quoted in a Morgan Stanley report where he said that , "As an Indian, I feel sad that we have come to this state."
Murthy particularly stressed on how the government's decision to introduce retrospective tax amendments has hampered investor sentiment. Murthy believes that "high growth trajectory is not possible without foreign investors."
Premji's and Murthy's views underline growing impatience in corporate India over policy inaction.
