As per Skymet, monsoon rains will cover most parts of south India and the entire northeast between June 6 and 9. The monsoon surge is expected to slow down thereafter and reach Mumbai in the country's western coast and Kolkata on eastern side between June 11 and 14.

Most of the central and eastern parts of the country will get monsoon rains in the third week of June, between June 22 and 24, according to the private forecaster.
