RBI monetary policy will not check price rise: Kerala Minister

The monetary policy announced by the Reserve Bank of India on Tuesday will not help to curb price rise of essential commodities, Kerala Finance Minister T M Thomas Issac said.

PALAKKAD: The monetary policy announced by the Reserve Bank of India on Tuesday will not help to curb price rise of essential commodities, Kerala Finance Minister T M Thomas Issac said.

Increasing the CRR ratio by 0.25 per cent would not effectively check price rise, Issac told reporters here today,

Steps would be taken to strengthen the tax collection in the state, he added . Issac wanted the self-help group 'Kudumasree' to become part of the government food security schemes by actively participating in the National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme and other similar schemes, Issac added.
