Rainfall to be subdued till July 30 over central and western India: IMD
The India Meteorology Department expects the rainfall over central and west India to remain subdued during the second half of July, based on its extended range rainfall issued till July 30.

"Subdued rainfall activity likely over central and west India from 16 to 30 July," said IMD in its extended range forecast issued till July 30," stated a latest IMD forecast.
The the rainfall is likely to decline over central and western India, it is expected to increase in North and North Eastern India. "Above normal Rainfall activity likely over Western Himalayan Region and Indo Gangetic plains till 20 July and over northeastern states till 30 July. Near normal rainfall activity is likely over Peninsular India till 30 July," stated the IMD forecast.
The country as a whole has received 4% above normal rainfall during the season from June 1 to July 13, with the rainfall being surplus by 25% in central India and deficient by 23% in North East India.
The met department has said that the Madden Julian Oscillation ( MJO) is currently over Indian Ocean and becoming strong in amplitude indicating favourable rainfall conditions.
