Outotec sees major opportunities to contribute to India's economic development

KOLKATA: Outotec, a Finland-based MNC and the world's leading sustainable technology solutions provider to minerals, metals and energy sectors, has said it sees major opportunities to contribute to India's economic development through sustainable technologies.

The executive board of Outotec, led by its president & CEO Mr Pertti Korhonen recently reviewed the company's India strategy in Kolkata last week. Talking about the company's India strategy, Mr Pertti Korhonen said: "India is a rapidly growing, huge economy.

In the future it is more and more important to decouple the economic growth and its impacts on environment. Availability of energy is also major bottleneck for the country's growth. Outotec sees major opportunities to contribute to the prosperity of India by providing sustainable technologies, to grow India's economy in a sustainable manner."

In step, Outotec plans to create value at various levels and augment its various service capabilities. "India is strategically one of the most important destinations for the company. On the agenda is value creation at multiple levels - even while retaining and expanding the market share from our market area. We are also preparing to augment our present capabilities on engineering, purchase, service centre as future global hubs,"" Apurba Chakravarty, managing director, Outotec India, said.
