Stephen Roach, chairman, Morgan Stanley, Asia, in a chat with ET Now, talks about India’s growth and economic prospects.

On balance, are you optimistic about Indian economy’s prospects for the next financial year?

We are. Economic growth in India is a very good sweet spot. The micro conditions have long been good in terms of your companies and your workforce, your solid financial markets and financial institutions. The macro in terms of saving, foreign direct investment and infrastructure has improved a lot in the last 3-4 years and the political constraint post last May’s election now looks a lot better. India is in a sweet spot and we would not be surprised to see growth in excess of 8% over the next couple of years.
