Oman shows interest in Indian industry

Oman's minister for tourism Rajha Bint Abdulameer Bin Ali said she will convince Omanese investors to come forward to make investment in India.

NEW DELHI: Oman has said it will try to convince its investors to invest in India.

Oman's minister for tourism Rajha Bint Abdulameer Bin Ali said she will convince Omanese investors to come forward to make investment in India.

She conveyed this to Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni at a meeting here.

Both the leaders discussed tourism and related issues during their half-an-hour meeting.

Soni briefed the visiting dignitary about rural tourism, eco-tourism, adventure tourism and other tourism related issues in India.

She said India has allowed 100 per cent foreign direct investment (FDI) in hotel sector with single window clearance.

Soni said to support the rural artisans and to keep the art of making traditional handicrafts alive in the country, her ministry is promoting rural tourism and shopping festivals in a big way.
