INDORE: London's Deputy Mayor for business Rajesh Agarawal today said no country can overlook India which is emerging as a strong country with a galloping economic growth rate.

"The economy of many countries has taken a beating but India's financial health has grown stronger. As a result India has emerged as a strong nation that cannot be overlooked," Agrawal said at a function here.

39-year-old Rajesh Agrawal, a UK-based entrepreneur, was born in Indore.

"World needs India today. Nowadays, the self-confidence of Indians is overwhelming," he said.

India and UK have business and cultural ties for centuries, and due to this Indians enjoy good influence in various sectors in UK, he said.

UK is going to extend technical support to Indore and two other cities which have been selected for smart city project of the Indian government, he said.

He praised the Madhya Pradesh government's policies and noted the high economic and agricultural growth rate of the state.
