Kaushik Basu expects the Indian economy to rebound from October after a dip in growth for the year 2011-12 to 6.5%, lowest in the past nine years.

New Delhi: Chief Economic Advisor Kaushik Basu expects the Indian economy to rebound from October after a dip in growth for the year 2011-12 to 6.5%, lowest in the past nine years.

"We are hopeful that the economy is going to bounce back within 4-5 months. I mean it's October. Before that I can't realistically say that there will be an improvement, but October onwards," Basu said. He also said the government was working to remove "trust problems" with the industry.
