Inflation will come down hopefully in 3 months: PM

NEW DELHI: With the government facing all-round flak over rising prices, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday said the inflation growth rate would come down hopefully in the next three months.

Though inflation has grown in the recent past, "the current rate of 7.5 per cent will come down, hopefully in the next three months," Singh said on the sidelines of a military investiture ceremony here.

Noting that the inflationary process had "affected a large number of countries", he said these included the developed nations of Europe and the US, besides China and all the neighbouring countries.

The Prime Minister had recently said that the government had taken several measures but it would take some time before these bear fruit.
