India's industrial output, measured by the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) grew by 3.2 per cent in December, 2024, from 5.2 per cent in November 2024, data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) on Wednesday showed.

The data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) showed that the manufacturing sector's output grew 3.0 per cent in December 2024, slowing from 4.6 per cent in the year-ago period. Mining production grew by 2.6 per cent and power output increased 6.2 per cent in November 2024.

The factory output, measured in terms of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), witnessed a growth of 4.4 per cent in December 2023.


Industrial output increased by 4.0 per cent in the April-December period, compared to 6.3 per cent a year ago.
