India on track to meet growth targets: Manmohan Singh

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Saturday that the country should guard itself and reverse the spread of negativism.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Saturday that the country should guard itself and reverse the spread of negativism. “We must guard against the mood of negativism that seems to have gripped the country...Investment is after all a reflection of animal spirits of enterprise,” Singh said at a meeting of the National Development Council (NDC).

Singh sought to dispel doubts on the potential of the economy to achieve 9 % average annual GDP growth, as targeted by the approach paper to the 12th five-year plan (2012-17), saying that the target was feasible.
