IMD predicts showers in north India, temperature to fall 2-4°Celsius
With progressing monsoon, isolated heavy rainfall is expected in parts of AP, Assam and Meghalaya, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Maximum temperatures are also expected to fall in some other parts of the country.
“Fall in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C likely over many parts of central and west India during next two-three days. Maximum temperature would also fall by 2-4°C over plains of northwest India after 24 hours,” the Indian Meteorological Department ( IMD) said on Thursday.
While heatwave conditions are likely to persist, the weather agency has predicted dust storms in parts of north India across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
Private weather forecaster Skymet has also issued a weather alert, predicting light showers and thunderstorms in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
With progressing monsoon, isolated heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
Meanwhile, the cyclonic storm ‘Nanauk’, over east-central and adjoining west-central Arabian Sea moved west-north-westwards. The area falls about 800 km west-southwest of Mumbai, 630 km southwest of Veraval and 800 km east-southeast of Masirah Island (Oman).
The IMD said in its cyclone alert that the system would intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours, but it would not pose any threat to the Indian coast.
