GDP to grow by 6 pc in FY'10: Parekh

The Indian economy would grow by six per cent in the current fiscal, HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh said on Thursday.

HYDERABAD: The Indian economy would grow by six per cent in the current fiscal, HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh said on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion of release of former Governor of RBI, Dr Y V Reddy's book 'India in Global Financial Crisis: Managing Money and Finance' here tonight, Parekh also hoped that interest rates may come down in the financial year.

The liquidity in the system is also better placed at present, he added.

Parekh, who is also the board member of Satyam, said the new owner of Satyam -- IT major Tech Mahindra-- is in process of retaining an assuring foreign customers who are leaving the company, after its jailed chairman B Ramalinga Raju, confessed of committing Rs 7,800-crore accounting fraud at Satyam Computer Services.
