Factory jobs are paying better, with the average pay per person rising by 28.9% — from Rs 2.8 lakh in 2018–19 to Rs 3.7 lakh in 2023–24. Across states and UTs, Sikkim leads with an average pay of Rs 7.1 lakh — nearly double the national average — according to an analysis of data from the Annual Survey of Industries.
