NEW DELHI: The failure of the mini-ministerial in Geneva does not mean end of the world for the Doha round of WTO talks, feel officials of the Indian delegation.

The estimate is that talks may resume by the middle of 2009 after a new government comes into place in the US.

Commerce minister Kamal Nath said India was not averse to resumption of negotiations as long as the concerns of farmers were taken into account.

India stands committed to constructively engage at the WTO to move the Doha development round to a successful conclusion, he said in a statement here.
