Trade target of $15 billion with India will be achieved: Brazil
Notwithstanding the global economic crisis, Brazil said it is confident that the bilateral trade target with India of $15 bn by 2015 will be achieved.
"I am confident that $15 billion bilateral target with India by 2015 (will be met)," Ambassador of Brazil in India Carlos Duarte told reporters when asked if the global economic crisis could be a dampener.
Speaking on the sidelines of an interactive session with Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Duarte said, "We will try to push for bilateral trade to mitigate global impact."
India is seeking investments from Brazil, mainly in the infrastructure sector.
The country needs about $one trillion in the next five years for infrastructure development over the next five years.
Both the countries can cooperate in sectors like textiles, IT, infrastructure and pharmaceuticals, Duarte said.
