Tea sops to capture export market

Assam government has extended the concession for tea exported through the dry port of Inland Container deport (ICD), Amingaon in Guwahati by one year.

GUWAHATI: What is expected to provide impetus to export of tea from Assam, the state government has extended the concession for tea exported through the dry port of Inland Container deport (ICD), Amingaon in Guwahati by one year.

This measure of deduction from Rs 5 to Rs 6 for every kg of tea exported through ICD, Amingaon from agricultural income for computation of agricultural income had a positive impact and Assam government has decided to allow this deduction for one more year.

The government has notified government such deduction at Rs 6 per kg shall continue for another one year. The government has announced to reduce the rate of tax on auction sale though Guwahati tea auction centre (GTAC) from existing one percent to 0.5 percent.
