Soybean meal exports decline 65% year on year

Exports of Soybean meal and its other value added products in the 2015-16 oil year stood at 2.62 lakh tons as compared to 7.51 lakh tons in the same period of previous year.

Soybean meal exports decline 65% year on year
KOLKATA: Export of soybean meal and its other value added products during oil year 2015-16 (October 2015 - September 2016) has declined by 65% as compared to previous oil year, according to Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA).

The release issued by SOPA on Wednesday said "Exports of Soybean meal and its other value added products in the 2015-16 oil year stood at 2.62 lakh tons as compared to 7.51 lakh tons in the same period of previous year."

The top 10 destinations for export of soybean meal and its other value added products eere Sri Lanka (34,821 tons), Japan (28,859 tons), Indonesia (26,890 tons), Kenya (24,009 tons), Taiwan (16,380 tons), USA (15,056 tons), Korea (14,112 tons), Thailand (12,636 tons), Myanmar (11,846 tons) and Oman (9,528 tons)

On a financial year basis, the export of soybean meal and its other value added products during April’2016 to September’2016 is 0.76 lakh tons as compared to 2.02 lakh tons in the same period of previous year showing a decrease of 62.5%.
