Russia says there is no problem with payment for its oil shipments to India

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova assured that Russian oil shipments to India are progressing smoothly without any payment issues.

Russian oil shipments to India are proceeding "in full" and there are no problems with payment, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.

Industry sources have said shipments of Russian crude oil to India were delayed by payment problems at the end of last year. Zakharova told reporters it was a priority to make payments in national currencies so as not to depend on the West.
