Poland is keen to develop ties with with Punjab and Haryana in food processing and renewable energy sectors.

CHANDIGARH: Poland is keen to develop ties with with Punjab and Haryana in food processing and renewable energy sectors.

Piotr Ktodkowski, Ambassador, Republic of Poland, said that there is a lot of scope for trade and investment in Punjab and Haryana.

"The Republic of Poland looks forward to partner strategically with Punjab and Haryana in food processing and renewable energy sectors," he said.

India is perceived in Poland as one of the most important non-European economic partners, said the ambassador.

"It is an attractive gateway to the European Union and CIS markets," he said.

Ktodkowski said Poland is already India's largest trading partner in Central Europe, with trade between India and Poland witnessing an encouraging trend in recent years.

He stated that the potential areas of cooperation between India and Poland lies in energy, oil and gas, mining, and food processing besides other areas.

Technology innovation and technology transfer are the other areas of potential cooperation between the two countries.
