Over Rs 2.26 crore goods traded between J&K and PoK

As many as 25 trucks rolled out from the trade facilitation centre (TFC) at Ranger, in Poonch district of J&K, to PoK.

POONCH: Taking forward cross-border trade between Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir ( PoK), 44 trucks carrying goods worth over Rs 2.26 crore crossed over to either side at the Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point in Poonch district on Wednesday, officials said.

As many as 25 trucks rolled out from the trade facilitation centre (TFC) at Ranger, in Poonch district of J&K, to PoK today, they said, adding that these trucks carried bags of coconut, red chilli, tomato, onion and potatoes worth Rs 96,31,559.

From PoK, as many as 19 trucks carrying bags of dry grapes, dry fruits, almonds and dates crossed to this side, which were valued at Rs 1,30,22,420, they said.

Officials from both sides monitored the transportation of these goods across Chakan-Da-Bagh twice during the day from 1200 hrs to 1230 hrs and 1730 hrs to 1815 hrs respectively, they said.
