New Zealand, India have forged strong business bond: Nathan Guy

NEW DELHI: New Zealand's Minister of Primary Industries Nathan Guy today urged the Indian investors to treat upcoming ICC World Cup 2015 as an opportunity to strengthen economic and trade connection between the two countries.

Guy, who was in India along with country's Trade Commissioner Richard White, spoke about the ever-strengthening bond between the two nations at a glittering reception held at the New Zealand High Commission.

"New Zealand and India have forged a strong business relationship over the years. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is an opportunity for both countries to further grow their economic and trade connections," said Guy.

Former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming, who is also the coach of IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings accompanied the Minister in a trip to explore business opportunities through sporting links.

India is New Zealand's fastest growing source of international students. It is also developing as a place for New Zealand firms to do business and visit. Tourist numbers to New Zealand from India increased by almost 20 per cent in the the recent years.

New Zealand co-hosts the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 with Australia from 14 February until 29 March 2015. Indian cricket fans can make the most of a dual visa for Australia and New Zealand under the Trans-Tasman agreement, which is valid between January 26 and April 5, 2015.

In addition to Fleming, Indian cricketer Madan Lal was also present at the event.
