Nath to inaugurate India-Japan business leaders forum

Commerce Minister Kamal Nath will inaugurate the India-Japan Business Leaders Forum on Tuesday.

NEW DELHI: Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath will inaugurate the India-Japan Business Leaders Forum, comprising CEOs of top companies from both the sides, during Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit to India beginning on Tuesday.

M S Asahi of Mitsubishi, K Furukawa of Hitachi, N Ohashi of Mitsui and H Yonekura of Sumitomo, besides 10 others, have been included in the high-level business forum from the Japanese side.

Indian businessmen on the forum include Baba Kalyani of Bharat Forge, Nandan Nilekani of Infosys and Vikram Kirloskar of Toyota Kirloskar.

The forum would be launched at a Business Seminar to be held on August 22, the day when a Joint Business meet with the Japanese Prime Minister would also be organsied, an official release said today.

A business delegation accompanying the Japanese Prime Minister would interact with Indian industry leaders at the meetings organised by three apex chambers along with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion in the Ministry of Commerce.

The Japanese delegation would include representatives from Canon, Toyota, Mitsubishi Corporation, Matsushita, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Suzuki, Japan Airlines, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Japan Bank for International Cooperation.
