NALCO recognised as Premier Trading House

NALCO has been accorded the prestigious Premier Trading House status, in accordance with the provision of the Exim Policy by the union government.

BHUBANESWAR: Navratna PSU National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO), India’s largest manufacturer and exporter has added another feather to its cap. The Company has been accorded the prestigious Premier Trading House status, in accordance with the provision of the Exim Policy by the union government.

Premier Trading House status is the highest status awarded to any Export House by the Indian government.

As per the Current Foreign Trade Policy, the Export House should have exported goods worth Rs 7,500 crore or above during the current year plus previous three years for getting status of Premier Trading House. Nalco has achieved export of Rs 7,609.07 crore during the current year up to 31.07.2009 including the previous three years i.e. from April 2006 to July 2009.

Nalco has been recognised as a Five Star Trading House for its substantial contributions to export of aluminium metal and calcined alumina to various overseas markets since 2005.

Nalco has been making rapid progress in the field of aluminium metal exports which have further gone up with the commissioning of ongoing 2nd phase capacity expansion.
