International Cotton Association joins hands with Indian counterpart

The ICA, Liverpool, U.K. and CAI (Cotton Association of India), have decided to join hands and entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

PUNE: The ICA (The International Cotton Association), Liverpool, U.K. and CAI ( Cotton Association of India), have decided to join hands and entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This MOU was signed by Mohit D. Shah, the ICA President and Dhiren N. Sheth, the President of CAI on January 27, 2014 in Mumbai.

"With a view to combine efforts to promote better cotton trading practices, upholding sanctity of contracts and pursuing the cause of cotton globally and more effectively," stated a CAI release.

The ICA is the world's leading cotton Association and an arbitral body. Majority of international trades in cotton take place under the ICA Bylaws and Rules.

"The MOU established between the ICA and CAI, envisages co-operation on a host of matters relating to cotton including regular exchange of delegations between the two Associations, training, information exchange and dissemination, speedy resolution of members' issues, etc. and will go a long way in making cotton trading safer," stated the release.
