India's soyameal exports declined by 13% to 1.39 lakh tonne in July, 2011, according to the industry data released today.

NEW DELHI: India's soyameal exports declined by 13 per cent to 1.39 lakh tonne in July, 2011, according to the industry data released today.

The country in July, 2010 had exported 1.60 lakh tonne of soyameal, which is used as animal feed, Indore-based Soyabean Processors Association of India (SOPA) said in a statement.

The shipment of soyameal from the country during the April-July, 2011 period jumped to 7.37 lakh tonne from 3.74 lakh tonne in the corresponding period of the previous year.

In the first 10 months of the current oil year (October - September), export of soyameal almost doubled to 37.35 lakh tonne compared to 18.78 lakh tonne in the same period of the previous year.

India exports soyameal to Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and China among others.

According to the government data, the country is estimated to have harvested a record 12.58 million tonne of soyabean in July 2010-June 2011 crop year.
