India’s banana export increases by 703%, with a jump of Rs 26 crore in April-May 2013 to Rs 213 crore in April-May 2022, the union minister Piyush Goyal confirmed.

The banana export jumped from Rs 26 crore in April-May 2013 to Rs 213 crore in April-May 2022. This is a staggering increase of 703 percent, he added.
Goyal elaborated that such an increase in country's banana export is a result of adoption of farm practices as per the global standards.

Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh contribute more than 70 per cent of the country's banana production.
