'India-Mexico trade to surge to $10 billion by 2015'

The bilateral trade between India and Mexico is likely to rise to $10 bn by 2015 against $4 bn at present, Mexican government said.

MUMBAI: The bilateral trade between India and Mexico is likely to rise to USD 10 billion by 2015 against USD 4 billion at present, a senior official of the Mexican government said here today.

"There is huge potential to boost trade between the two countries. Total bilateral trade is likely to surge by 150 per cent to USD 10 billion in another three years against USD 4 billion now," ProMexico Chief Executive Officer Carlos Guzmán Bofill, who is leading a 20-member business delegation to Mumbai, said.

ProMexico is the Mexican Government institution in charge of strengthening Mexico's participation in the international economy.

A large number of software companies, including Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services have already established themselves in Mexico alongwith pharmaceutical majors like Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Ranbaxy and Wockhardt, he said.
