India, China should explore more trade opportunities
With China becoming the largest trading partner of India, the two countries should further explore opportunities in the two way trade, Chinese Commercial Counsellor Peng Gang said.
China has become the largest trading partner of India, surpassing the United States, Peng said last night at a function, India-China Economic Relations, organised by the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
India is the eighth largest trade partner of China, he said. Both the countries could further explore more opportunities as India had great advantage in IT, service, finance and telecommunication sectors, while China's strengths were in service, communication and tourism sectors.
"Let us shake hands and stand together hand in hand to build up a lot more cooperation to bring faster development and closer cooperation between the two countries," he said.
Gang said they had held discussions with the ministers of Kerala and officials at Thiruvananthapuram on August 18, on the potential for cooperation in economic, commerce, infrastructure and construction areas.
In June next year, the Second South Eastern Countries Commodities Fair, will be held in China, he said and called upon the Indian businessmen to participate and showcase their technology and products.
