WASHINGTON: Having invested six billion dollars in the United States this year so far, Indian firms under the aegis of the India Business Forum (IBF) are looking for ways to expand their operations in the country.

Formally launched in June 2006 and structured at the initiative of the Confederation of Indian Industry, IBF had a meeting with officials of the Indian Embassy here yesterday.

Indian Ambassador to the US Ronen Sen presented an overview of the broad strategic partnership between the States and India.

Sen briefed members of the recent positive developments in the realm of bilateral relations including the successful outcome of the CEO's Forum. He also urged members of the IBF to make the bilateral partnership sustainable saying that such a relationship is good for both the nations.

The 34 companies in the IBF have made a significant amount of investment in sectors like technology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and gems and jewellery.

Tata Group's David Good pointed out that one of the objectives of IBF is to identify the areas of challenges in the US.
