Govt eases Malonylurea (Barbituric Acid) & salts import policy

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has done away with the condition of importing the product after obtaining a No Objection Certificate from Narcotics Commissioner. The product is used in drugs and pharmaceuticals.

India imported $8.09 million of Malonylurea (Barbituric Acid) and its salts in FY22 and $1.9 million in April-May 2022-23.
The government on Monday eased the policy for import of compounds containing a pyrimidine ring or piperazine ring in the structure : Malonylurea (Barbituric Acid) and its salts.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has done away with the condition of importing the product after obtaining a No Objection Certificate from Narcotics Commissioner. The product is used in drugs and pharmaceuticals.

“Import of Malonylurea (Barbituric Acid) and its salts shall be allowed without NOC from Narcotics Commissioner, Gwalior,” DGFT said in a notification.
