Govt approves DTAA signing between India and Tajikistan

Government approved signing of an agreement between India and Tajikistan for avoidance of double taxation and prevention of income tax evasion.

NEW DELHI: Government on Thursday approved signing of an agreement between India and Tajikistan for avoidance of double taxation and prevention of income tax evasion.

"Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements aim to avoid and reduce burden of double taxation on the same tax payer in two countries in order to promote international trade and investments between the two countries," an official spokesperson told reporters after the cabinet meeting.

The agreement would stimulate the flow of investment, technology and services from India to Tajikistan and vice versa.
