FICCI signs MoU with Business NZ

Industry body FICCI and the Business New Zealand (Business NZ) on Wednesday signed a MoU to promote establishment of legal and administrative conditions for development of trade and economic relations between India and New Zealand.


NEW DELHI: Industry body FICCI and the Business New Zealand (Business NZ) on Wednesday signed a MoU to promote establishment of legal and administrative conditions for development of trade and economic relations between India and New Zealand.

The agreement signed in Auckland also seeks to provide their members with information on the general economic situation, taxation, investments opportunities, trade policies and legislative changes therein and encourage businessmen of both countries to participate in exhibitions and fairs held in India and New Zealand.

FICCI mounted a business delegation to New Zealand from October 24-26, 2007 for the 11th Joint Business Council (JBC) Meeting, to be organised back to back with the Joint Trade Commission meeting between the two governments.

The Joint Business Council meeting was held on Wednesday at Auckland, followed by meetings in Wellington, a chamber statement said.

The delegation, led by India-New Zealand Business Council Chairman Vikram Kapur Chairman comprises businessmen from sectors like cycles, IT & telecom, precious & semi-precious stones, jewellery, agro products, carpets, textiles, pulp & paper, amongst others, the statement added.
