Export of oilmeals during April at 135,474 tons

SEA in a release issued on Monday said that Indian competitiveness of soybean meal in international market further reduced, resulting in to slowed down of shipment from India.

The overall export of oilmeals during April 2017 stood at 135,474 tons compared to 113,978 tons in April 2016 - up by 19%, according to data compiled by Solvent Extractors' Association (SEA).

SEA in a release issued on Monday said that Indian competitiveness of soybean meal in international market further reduced, resulting in to slowed down of shipment from India. This also affected the crushing. The recent increased in Indian soya oil imports is also exerting pressure on domestic soya oil prices, which together with soybean sales is squeezing crush margins.

During April 2017 oilmeal imported by Vietnam from India reported at 8,672 tons; consisting of 6,382 tons of soybean meal, 790 tons of rapeseed meal and 1,500 tons of rice bran extraction.

European countries were the major importer of Indian soybean meal. Germany imported 25,351 tons of soybean meal, while France imported 25,861 tons; consisting of 25,861 tons of soybean meal and 969 tons of castor meal and rest of European countries imported 46,174 tons. Indonesia imported 11,450 tons; consisting 10,992 tons of soybean meal and 458 tons of rapeseed meal.

The export from Kandla is reported at 107,287 tons (79%), followed by Mumbai including JNPT handled 15,577 tons (11%), and Mundra handled 11,110 tons (8%) and Kolkata handled 1,500 tons (1%).
