Export of oil meals down by 13% between April'12 to Feb'13

KOLKATA: The total export of oil meals during April 2012 to February 2013 has reduced and reported at 4,335,809 tons compared to 4,970,761 tons during the same period of last year, down by 13 per cent, mainly due to reduced demand from overseas market. However, the export of oilmeals during February 2013 is reported 656,948 tons compared to 485,564 tons in February 2012, up by 35 per cent.

Oil meal import by South Korea from India during April 2012 to February 2013 is reported at 844,015 tons (compared to 717,274 tons last year) consisting of 173,568 tons of soybean meal, 313,613 tons of castor meal and 356,834 tons of rapeseed meal.

Vietnam another major market, imported 657,704 tons (compared to 848,230 tons last year) consisting of 408,454 tons of soybean meal, 29,736 tons of rapeseed meal, 1,412 tons of groundnut meal, 502 tons of castor meal and entire quantity of 217,600 tons of rice bran extraction.

Japan imported 555,529 tons (compared to 1,140,597 tons last year) consisting of 554,837 tons of soybean meal, 593 tons of rapeseed meal and 99 tons of castor meal.

Thailand imported of 407,082 tons (compared to 450,344 tons of last year) consisting 315,222 tons of soybean meal, 91,771 tons of rapeseed meal and small quantity of 89 tons of Castor meal.

Indonesia imported 197,363 tons (compared to 284,513 tons last year) consisting of 97,832 tons of rapeseed meal and 99,531 tons of soybean meal. Iranimported of 744,733 tons (compared to 190,962 tons last year), consisting 728,733 tons of soybean meal, and 16,000 tons of rapeseed meal. Europe and others have imported 467,221 tons compared to 340,373 tons last year.
