India’s imports of AI-enabling goods rose 13.1% to $66.8 billion in FY25, with the US accounting for 7% of this trade.

Imports from the US outpaced exports with just five items accounting for over half of India’s AI-related imports, driven by processors, controllers and memories, indicating India’s growing reliance on the US for advanced computing hardware essential to its AI ecosystem.
