El Salvador seeks Indian investment

El Salvador today said it was looking for Indian investment in port and infrastructure development projects.

KOLKATA: El Salvador today said it was looking for Indian investment in port and infrastructure development projects.

Speaking at an interactive session in the Indian Chamber of Commerce here, the Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador in India, Ruben Ignocia Zamora, said the country was developing its port infrastructure through the public-private partnership (PPP) route.

He said Indian companies were welcome to invest in the sectors in his country.

Other sectors where investments are welcome include insurance and pharmaceuticals, he said.

Bilateral trade between India and El Salvador stood at USD 60 million in the 2010-11 financial year.
