Economic meltdown affected exports: FIEO

JAIPUR: Exporters are passing through a difficult phase as demand has eroded in international markets due to the global economic meltdown, Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) Chairman J K Jain said here on Friday.

There were many foreign trade policy and banking issues which required to be addressed on priority, Jain told a interactive session with the State Industries department here.

Rajasthan Additional Chief Secretary Rukmani Haldia said the state government will help exporters and make efforts to solve their problems.

The exporters sought special relief for the key industry sector of Jaipur - Handicraft.
